Mark your calendars! The West Town Chicago Chamber of Commerce  produces a number of special events throughout the year to promote the chamber, the West Town commercial districts, to foster economic development, and provide area wide marketing. Funds raised at these events supplement the chamber’s operating budget and benefit specific commercial corridors, local schools, parks, and other local non-profits.

Chicago’s quintessential summer street festival is also one of the first of the season. Now in its 11th year, Do Division Street Fest & Sidewalk Sale 2017 kicks off June 2 – 4, promising the return of over 10 blocks of local food, shopping, art and live tunes. This year’s blacktop bash includes two fests-within-a-fest; Family Fun Fest and Do Fashion Fest, in addition to a multi-block sidewalk sale, crafts, artisans and plenty of ice cold beer. The highlight of the three-day mêlée is the live music programmed by iconic Chicago venues, Subterranean and Empty Bottle Presents. Music critics and fans alike usually rate the lineup among the best of fest season – and at only $5 it’s one of the least expensive too. Do Division Street Fest gives attendees each year a taste of what makes West Division Street one of the coolest destination corridors in the city! A percentage of proceeds benefit the West Town Chamber of Commerce and local schools including Friends of Pritzker and LaSalle II PTO.

When it debuted 13 years ago, West Towns little fest that could was a reflection of the vibrant up-and-coming neighborhood for the few thousand who turned out.  Today, massive crowds turn out to celebrate all of the best of the local hood in addition to some of the most highly-anticipated live music of the summer season.  Hailed as one of the top festivals in the city and suburbs by the Chicago Tribune, West Fest 2017 returns to one of todays “hottest neighborhoods” in the country (per).  As always, West Fest will feature critically-acclaimed live music on two stages (plus a third family-friendly stage) programmed by West Towns nationally-renowned live music venue, Empty Bottle Presents.  The annual street fest also features a popular Chicago House DJ stage, West Towns most popular boutiques and restaurants, Pet Fest with dog activities for charity, and Kid Fest – the family fun area.  A percentage of proceeds benefit the West Town Chamber of Commerce and Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy.

West Town showcases its thriving art scene at the 7th annual West Town Art Walk October 6 and 7. The unique aesthetic festival celebrates art in all forms – visual, musical, culinary, fashion – on Chicago Avenue in the heart of West Town. But the fun doesn’t end there. Like last year, the 2017 West Town Art Walk will be presented in conjunction with the 2017 West Town Food Truck Social, pairing together Chicago’s best food trucks with Chicago’s best artists. Attendees are encouraged to snack-and-stroll through the hood, enjoying mobile delicacies at the Food Truck Social while checking out pop-up galleries at dozens of West Town retail stores and restaurants up and down Chicago Avenue.

The Illinois Food Truck Owner Association’s top mobile kitchens will convene in historic West Town for another deliciously-entertaining Food Truck Social on October 6 and 7. Like last year, the 2017 West Town Food Truck Social will merry up with the 2017 West Town Art Walk to create a one-of-a-kind neighborhood wide festival pairing together Chicago’s best assets – food and art. Attendees are encouraged to snack-and-stroll through West Town and enjoy innovative art in all forms in various retail outlets and restaurants on Chicago Avenue along with four-wheeled delicacies from Chicago’s most beloved food trucks. A Sampler Ticket will allow patrons to stroll around and try sample-sized portions from any food truck. All food and beverages will also be available for regular individual cash purchase. Sponsored beer tastings and family-activities in Eckhart Park, plus fresh tunes by local record stores will help set the vibe each day.

The historic retail corridors of West Town are coming together once again to host another neighborhood-wide holiday extravaganza. West Town WinterFest rolls through the hood on Saturday, December 9th offering a fun-filled winter shopping experience for families, couples and friends alike. Organized by the West Town Chamber of Commerce, West Town WinterFest’s claim-to-fame is the organized holiday Jolly Trolley tours to dozens of the area’s favorite shops. In addition, an array of exciting activities are offered at this year’s West Town WinterFest, like a guided walking tour, a pop-up holiday market, WinterFest (bounce-back) Bucks, and a “Naughty List” After Party.
